A LETTER From ME, Martina!

Hellooo!!

My name is Martina, It’s nice to meet you!

If there is one goal I have with my music, it is to make it as authentic as possible, and to do that I thought I would share a bit about myself.

I am born and raised in Alberta. Growing up in this province has given me the opportunity to be surrounded by country music. I am a fourth generation musician, following in the footsteps of my great grandparents band, my grandparents band, and my own mama who is a country artist herself. I have been so fortunate to be so surrounded by music, and my love for what I do runs in my blood.

I took my first trip to Nashville when I was only 2 years old, as my mom was recording her second studio album. This happened to be my first time in a studio as well, where I have a small part in her song “My Heart Melts.” Little did we know, 17 years later I would get to record my own songs in the great music city as well, which was such a full circle moment.

I grew up in various activities, but figure skating was my favourite. I still love to watch competitions on TV, and have plenty of edits pop up on my TikTok FYP of Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir (ifykyk). I never was the best athlete in general, but I loved being on the ice. It’s a challenging sport for sure, but it definitely made me grow a good spine which is necessary in the music industry.

I love to write songs. I write one everyday, which has been an amazing outlet for the massive amount of things that go on in my brain. I never really had a passion for songwriting, until one night in September of 2022 I started on a whim, and now I can’t stop! I aim to be able to share a lot of these songs with the world one day, because what I love about writing is that you can touch so many people’s hearts. That is my favourite part about music in general, it brings so many people together in ways you’d never think were possible.

Overall, I love music. Making it, playing it, and listening to it. Music is what I am made of and it drives me in everything I do. Anyway I won’t make you read more (I am not a very big fan of reading lol), thanks for getting to know me!
