Blessed with an old country soul and a contagious pop flair, Martina Dawn’s rising status in the Alberta music scene reflects her lyrical honesty, vocal energy, and bold stage presence.
Naturally curious, Martina is passionate about watching the people around her and teasing out songs that capture the moments and feelings that genuinely move her.
A fourth-generation artist from the small town of Devon, Martina could sing before she could talk and grew up listening to country staples like Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood and Shania Twain along with music icons like Michael Jackson, Bryan Adams, and Miley Cyrus. By the time she found herself on stage singing Martina McBride’s “Independence Day” at Tootsies in Nashville at age 11, there was no turning back.
From there, Martina eagerly followed in her family’s musical footsteps through regular songwriting and performances leading into her first single “Hate It” in 2021. Three more singles followed in 2022 (“Game Over”, “Gettin’ There”, “Pretending”), with all three picked up for airplay on SiriusXM Top of the Country Radio. In recognition of this early success, Martina won the Youth Horizon Award at the 2022 Country Music Alberta Awards.
Eager to make the most of her initial momentum, Martina unveiled “Sittin’ Pretty” – a co-write at Warner Chappell in Nashville with Krissy Feniak and Styles Haury – in 2023. The single reached over 300K streams on Spotify, quickly becoming her most popular song. As she’s grown her release catalogue, Martina has enjoyed key collaborations with producers Russell Broom, Grady Saxman, and Travis Switzer, with her most recent singles being 2024’s “Love on Them” and 2025’s “Tape and Glue”.
Martina has made similar strides on stage, having twice played at Country Thunder Alberta, as well as Big Valley Jamboree, the Ponoka Stampede, and the Country Music Alberta Awards Show, while also supporting artists like Gord Bamford, Tyler Joe Miller, Hailey Benedict, and Dan Davidson.
All the while, Martina has made equal efforts to connect with fans online, where she’s reached over 6 million organic social media impressions by openly sharing her journey as an emerging artist with an endearing and relatable energy that is distinctly her own.
As she celebrates her newest single “I’ll Be the Cowboy”, Martina Dawn will never be afraid to write from the heart, sing loud, speak her mind, and have a great time doing it.
